Most scenic Jingisukan in Hokkaido

When you are in Hokkaido, you cannot miss out on eating Jingisukan (ジンギスカン, "Genghis Khan"), the Japanese barbecue dish of mutton and lamb and cooked on a dome-shaped special metal grill. The myoglobin from the seared meat drizzles down onto the vegetables on the side, dousing them with umami (旨味).

When you are in Furano, however, you definitely cannot miss out on eating Jingisukan at possibly the most scenic Jingisukan restaurant in Hokkaido! Genghis Khan Shirakaba's Furano store (ジンギスカン白樺 富良野店) is a convenient dining option if you are visiting the flowers and lavender fields of Furano. Actually, we discovered this gem of a place by accident as we were driving around Furano and stopping at Campana Rokkatei.

It is also the best place to savour soft serve while admiring grapevines sprawling across almost 80,000 square meters of rolling hillsides with the Mount Daisetsu Range in the background
