About Cockaigne

"FOOD FOR OUR SOUL & GUT"

Cockaigne ã‚³ã‚±ã‚¤ãƒ³ - A mythical land of plenty, where man live happily without working and there is an abundance of everything. The myth, which is found in Germany and Italy, is particularly deeply rooted in Flemish tradition and dates back to a time when the spectre of famine often become reality. In the legend, the lucky man arrives at the land of plenty by travelling through a tunnel cut into a mountain of buck wheat flour; there he discovers a roasted pig walking about with a carving knife in its belly. A table covered in pies and tarts, hedges of sausages and other marvels, while roasted pigeons drops into his mouth.

Let us go to Cockaigne, food for our soul and gut.

Gulaʋ⡋ĩ - Gluttony, Palate, Gullet

In Gula, we aim to bring our readers good notable food from places we have traveled to, we are an army of two eaters and occasionally we will have guest eaters that would accompany us on our food adventures. Both eaters had been cooking since 2000, heavy meat eaters who do love our vegetables as much and we judge the food through our P.A.L.A.T.E.

Price - Quality of food as compared to the price being charged.

Ambition - Base on how unique/ different the dish is, if the dishes are only available from this particular chef or if it is just another dish that is available everywhere or worse still, a copycat failure.

Location -Where and how easy is it to find place, conducive eating place, a place located in Mars or I don't feel safe eating there.

Appearance - Appearance of the food not the Chef, a piece of art or sewage dump.

Taste - Needless to say the most important part of the meal. Good, bad, fresh, rotten, if it is something different, sweet, salty, bitter, sour, spicy, a splash of flavours or something refreshing.

Execution - Not the killing of the chicken, it is how the dish is being done compared to how it is supposed to be done or as described on the menu. For e.g. lets say a roasted chicken, is it soggy when served, properly done or totally charred; or maybe a crab croquette but I can't find my crab!

Do take some time to go through each category in the P.A.L.A.T.E. to understand and decide what is best for you as taste is very subjective to each and every individual, as fabulous tasting as it may be to us, for some may prefer lighter tasting food or dislike a particular type of food. We do encourage our readers to be adventurous towards food tasting and enjoy the food.

We pay for the food we consume and we do not notify or even make our presence known to the eateries during our visits.

We are not paid to rate or rate for friends. This blog is made purely for the love of food and justice for the animals who have died for us.

We do not post any eateries that we have vested in. At times we may post eateries owned by our peers and we will state in the post <Owned by Peer>, so as to be partial and fair to our readers, for our peers definitely knows who we are and there may be some bias contents in that particular post.
