PRICE
Decent price for nice cream bun and a good cup of coffee. We went to Pipes after our lunch, both of us ordered the Lemon Cheesecake Bun (Seasonal), S$3.80 each. Their Classic Cream Bun comes five different flavours – Custard, Whipped Cream, Matcha, Chocolate and Azuki Beans. Classic Cream Buns are priced at S$2.70

A cup of French Press House Blend (Hot), S$6.00
And a cup of Cappuccino House Blend (Hot), S$5.50

Total of nine selections for their Speciality Coffee which includes - House Blend, Brazil, Colombia, Guatemala, Indonesia, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Nicaragua and Ethiopia.
(Additional charges: GST & Service Charge)
AMBITION
The Cream Bun is nicely done, soft and light, and the coffee really gave us a kick at our food coma after the heavy lunch we had. Previously we had tried their coconut cream pudding in another eatery, Sushiro, and it was heavenly. The Coconut Cream Pudding we believe is not available in Pipes itself, but they do have two order flavours available – Custard Cream and Matcha Cream

LOCATION
Pipes is located at Exit H of Outram Train Station, they are kind of hidden in a blind spot, so turn right once you exit the train station and you will see them. Clean place, good for small gatherings. Inside the eatery, keep a look out for their Hattendo Roasting Gallery, it is a showroom for the “NOVO MARK II”, the first fully automated roaster in Singapore.

APPEARANCE
Japanese style packaging! Simple, pretty, easy to peel, keeps your hand clean for the cream buns. Nothing fancy for the cappuccino, a nice cup of コーヒー
TASTE
Lemon Cheesecake Bun, light cheese cream with a hint of lemon. We would have to say that it is just right and refreshing, generously filled. With its soft glazed bun, we would say its a perfect match.

French Press and Cappuccino House Blend strong, aromatic, slightly acidic and it leaves a nice aftertaste for quite some time. A good wake-up cup of coffee we would say.

EXECUTION
Light cream bun and strong coffee perfectly done for a tea time.
PIPES by HATTENDO is HATTENDO’s first Cafe Bar & Roasting Gallery in the world. Their delicious cream bun and strong coffee definitely freshens up our day and keeps us going. Pipes also serves full meals for lunch, dinner and booze, they evolve into a bar in the evening. During our tea time there, there were several tables around us having lunch and they look pretty good. We look forward to our next trip to Pipes for lunch or dinner. P.S. they do have Hokkaido Soft Serve too, which we didn’t get to try it because they were restarting their machine. Keep a look out for their NEW MENU on 4th August, only available for dining in, and also their back by popular demand – Rich Chocolate Cream Pudding starting from 3rd Aug!
